Andrea B. Haupt
Assistant Professor of Political Science
Professor Haupt has research and teaching interests in comparative politics and in political economy, with a focus on Western Europe. Her dissertation, titled Globalization and Parties: What is Left for the Left and Right for the Right? explores the effect of economic globalization on the ideological positioning of European left-wing and right-wing parties. Additional areas of interest include the politics of the welfare state and the politics of European-level governance, e.g. the European Parliament and the European Union’s social policy. She also teaches a course on the Politics of the Middle East.
