Daniel Verdier
Professor of Political Science
Professor Verdier has research and teaching interests in international
and comparative political economy. His work has focused on the politics of money and trade and how domestic
political institutions condition a country's involvement in the international economy, and his current
research deals with international institutions and the European Union. He has published books on banking and
finance by Cambridge University Press (2002) and on democracy and trade by Princeton University Press (1994).
His articles on these and other topics have appeared in Comparative Political Studies, Comparative Studies in
Society and History, International Organization, International Studies Quarterly, and Politics and Society. He is
currently a member of the editorial boards of International Organization and Business & Politics. Before coming to Ohio State, he was on the faculty of the University of Chicago and the European University Institute in Florence, Italy.
