Legislatures and Interest Groups

Winter, 2001

This page is intended to provide students with links to interest groups. The groups listed below are a subset of the enormous number of groups lobbying legislatures at both the state and national level.

This page owes both its content and format (and a great debt) to Kathleen Fountain, Political Science Librarian, Cal State-Chico, for her astounding collection and presentation of interest group links for public consumption. Her site, the Political Advocacy Groups Website, is absolutely terrific and very comprehensive. It can and should be accessed by clicking on the link below:

Students interested in finding other interest groups more congruent with their own preferences should definitely check out the Political Advocacy Groups Index Website.

Keep in mind that these groups should be contacted as soon as possible because the first paper, to discuss the interest groups students have chosen for their field research experience, is due at the end of the second week of the quarter.
